    Spotted Blue Eyes

The Spotted Blue Eye Etty Bay, is a small and colourful freshwater fish species with a slender and elongated body shape with vibrant coloration. The males are more colourful, displaying a stunning iridescent blue on their body and fins. They also have distinct black spots on their dorsal fin. The females are slightly duller in colour but still possess a subtle beauty with shades of silver and pale yellow. The overall appearance of the fish is eye-catching and makes them a popular choice for aquarists.

    Temperature: 21-28°.  pH: 4.5 - 7.5 Hardness: 90-215ppm

Peaceful but unsuitable for the general community aquarium since it€™s easily outcompeted and quite timid.

It's best maintained alone or alongside fishes of comparable size, disposition, and requirements and freshwater shrimp of the genera Caridina and Neocaridina

    P. gertrudae is a shoaling species and should be kept in a group of at least 8-10 specimens, ideally more. Maintaining it in such numbers will not only make the fish less nervous but result in a more effective, natural-looking display.

Males will also display their best colours and some fascinating behaviour as they compete with one other for female attention
